FisherBroyles Welcomes Devika Kewalramani as Partner and General Counsel

New York City, NY—June 11, 2024—FisherBroyles, LLP is pleased to announce that Devika Kewalramani has joined the Firm as a Partner in New York. She will also hold the role of General Counsel.
Devika joins the Firm after 25 years at Moses & Singer LLP where she was a Partner, led the firm’s Law Firm Industry Practice, and was its General Counsel. She focuses on advising law firms, lawyers, and legal departments, on all aspects of lawyering, including legal ethics, professional responsibility, lawyer regulation, and risk management.
Across her career, she has advised on matters involving conflicts of interest, disqualification, structuring arrangements, multijurisdictional practice, lateral transition, mergers and break-ups, partner disputes, attorney advertising, law firm cyber security, social media use, fee disputes, escrow management, and other professional ethics issues. She also conducts ethics and risk management audits for law firm clients.
Devika is a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct.
Her previous roles include Vice President of the New York City Bar Association, preceded by roles as Chair of the Board of Directors from 2022-2023, and Board Secretary between 2020-2021. She also served as a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Restarting the Economy Work Group in 2020, which developed guidance for re-opening New York law firms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Devika was appointed a member of the New York Commission on Statewide Attorney Discipline and was co-chair of its Subcommittee on Transparency and Access.
An accomplished writer, Devika has authored dozens of articles for publications such as New York Law Journal, Law360, and The Practical Lawyer. In May 2024 she was named a Burton Awards recipient of the ‘Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Awards’, co-sponsored by the American Bar Association. Devika speaks frequently to law firms, bar associations, law schools, and professional groups on legal ethics.
Devika holds a B.A. from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, India, and a J.D. from City University of New York School of Law.
