ATLANTA—(December 23, 2024)—FisherBroyles, LLP, the world’s first and one of the largest distributed law firms, and the only nontraditional law firm to be ranked in The Am Law 200, is pleased to announce that new partner Phillip Maroc has earned the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP) certification as an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).
Founded in 2000, the IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy and AI governance community and resource, helping to define, support and improve the privacy profession globally. The AIGP certification was developed and launched by the IAPP in tandem with the IAPP AI Governance Center.
As an AIGP-certified professional, Maroc has demonstrated the critical competency to assess AI, integrate relevant standards and best practices, and develop strategies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In an era of rapid global AI expansion, these governance professionals play an essential role in minimizing risks and ensuring the safe and responsible use of AI technologies across industries.
Maroc joined FisherBroyles earlier this month with more than 30 years of legal experience in privacy, data security and technology law. His practice covers AI, data privacy, international licensing and commercial transactions. Maroc holds additional certifications in both U.S. and European data privacy law (CIPP/US, CIPP/E).
“The Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional credential is an important designation in the privacy and AI sectors, and one I’m proud to have achieved,” said Maroc. “The International Association of Privacy Professionals is the leading organization in the complex and everchanging AI and information and data privacy industries, and I’m honored to join other qualified governance professionals who are working to establish critical AI compliance standards and best practices worldwide.”
FisherBroyles was founded in 2002 by James Fisher and Kevin Broyles.
