As moderator of ACG Detroit’s recent panel The Psychology of Selling a Business, Intellectual Property partner Douglas LaLone helped raise awareness of the mental health toll that selling a business can take on sellers. About 70% of business owners “deeply regretted” selling their business a year after the transaction. As such, he crafted a panel that included founders that successfully exited their business and a Neurobehavioral Human Performance Architect and Business Therapist. Collectively they identified the pain full issues Sellers go through during a transaction and stressed the fact that this can be addressed with better coaching by their deal team.
